FISHING REPORT - 10/27/17

Day 2 of the 9th Annual NCBBA Red Drum tournament results are in! See below! Tournament continues tomorrow until noon! Good Luck to all the Anglers!

Also, a family from Salisbury, NC came into the shop this evening to share the results from a great day of fishing at Ramp 34 on Hatteras Island and Ramp 59 on Ocracoke! Family includes: Karen Barringer, Wade Leazer, Sonya Leazer, Miranda Thompson, Derrick Thompson and Larry Barringer! Thanks for sharing!

Also last but CERTAINLY not least is our friend Luke, who caught this awesome Sea Mullet today! Happy Belated Birthday, Luke!

FISHING REPORT - 10/24/17
Not the greatest day for fishing today with winds and blowing sand that gave even glass a new texture! Hoping tomorrow the fish gods turn on the switch and the winds calm down to allow for a great NCBBA 9th Annual Red Drum Tournament!

Registration begins tomorrow at 10am, here at Frank & Fran's!

Events continue throughout the 28th and we hope to see you all here! We'll be stocked with all your fishing needs, especially fresh bait, ice, hoodies, head lamps, etc!

We will be opening at 5am tomorrow and not closing until 9pm on Saturday!

Up in Rodanthe they have reports of Blues, flounder and Pompano. In Salvo they have mullet, drum and blues. Here in Avon we have Blues, Mullet and Puppy drum. Down in Buxton they have Mullet and puppy drum. In frisco they have Puppy drum and finally in Hatteras they have Puppy drum and blues.

Excellent day of fishing!!! Rodanthe has reports of Puppy drum and Blues. In Salvo they have Puppy Drum, Blues and Mullet. Here in Avon we have mullet and blues and Puppy drum. Down in Buxton they have Drum, Mullet and Blues. In Frisco they have Spot, Blues. And finally in Hatteras they have Puppy Drum and Blues.
ATTENTION!!!! WE WILL HAVE A THOUSAND POUNDS OF FRESH MULLET AT 6AM TOMORROW MORNING!!!!!!!!!! GET IT WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!

Up in Rodanthe they have reports of Puppy drum, Blues and Sheepshead. In Salvo they have Puppy drum. Here in Avon we have Mullet, blues, Black drum and spot. Down in Buxton they have Blues and puppy drum. In Frisco they have Blues and Puppy drum. In Hatteras they have Puppy drum.

With the nice weather coming in let's go out there and catch some nice size puppy drum. Puppy drum have been all across the board for about two weeks now so let's give it a try!!!!!!!!

FISHING REPORT - 10/17/17
​WIND & WADERS! Those are the words for the day! For those of you on the island now, welcome to your Hatteras Island Natural Exfoliation! Just go stand on the beach for a bit and you'll understand!  Even with the strong winds of today we heard great reports of Puppy Drum throughout the island but mostly from Shelly Island, Ramp 34 and the Piers! Winds should begin to subside a bit tomorrow, but Thursday should be great!

Onto Waders! We received our shipment today and we're excited to let you know we have a GREAT selection of Frogg Togg Waders in a variety of sizes and price points! We also have Frogg Togg jackets to compliment your waders or just to wear everyday!

Fresh Bunker, Shrimp, Bloodworms available as well as your normal selection of frozen bait including Squid, Finger Mullet, Sand Fleas and more!

FISHING REPORT - 10/16/17
The colder weather and wind has arrived and unfortunately the wind we're having this evening will continue into tomorrow and all day. Winds aren't going to calm down again until Wednesday morning!  Fishing today was quite rough but there were some Puppy Drum, Small Blues, Sea Mullet and Flounder caught. Specs still being caught in the sound as well! For tomorrow, we'd suggest you head to the sound side as holding bottom on the surf may just prove to be impossible!
Fresh Cobb Mullet arrived tonight! See you tomorrow! 

OVERNIGHT REPORT AND SHARE! - 10/15/17

Thanks to Kendra Williamson Parrish, we have a great early morning fishing report. The drum were biting in Buxton around the time of the tide change. Here is a picture of her son with a nice 25" drum. Way to go!

Up in Rodanthe they have reports of Flounder, blues and Black drum. In Salvo they have Puppy Drum, Blues, and Pompano. Here in Avon we have Puppy drum, Mullet and Blues. Down in Buxton they have Blues, black drum and Puppy drum. In Frisco they have Puppy drum and blues. In Hatteras they have blues and black drum.
It is a beautiful day to go fishing so lets go out there and make it happen!!!

Lets hope this nasty weather clears up soon so we can get back to what we do best!!!!!!!!

Down in Buxton they have Puppy Drum, Blow toads and red drum. In Frisco they have reports of Puppy Drum and Mullet. Down in Hatteras they have Blues and Flounder.

FISHING REPORT - 10/10/17
​​FRESH BAIT IS HERE!! 100lbs of Mullet just arrived!

For today's fishing report its a short a sweet report for those who were catching Puppy Drum, Spot, Sea Mullet and Blues. There were some 40+ inch Drum caught off the Pier, off Avon beach, off the Point and in Hatteras! The Drum have arrived!

We open at 6am tomorrow, come and get your FRESH BAIT and get out there!

Up in Rodanthe they are catching puppy drum, sea mullet, and black drum. In Salvo they are catching blues, spot, croaker and pompano. In Avon we have reports of sea mullet, pompano, and croaker. Down in Buxton we have puppy's, blues and pompano. In Frisco the are catching puppy's, sea mullet, croaker, and spot. Hatteras, No report. Come down to Frank and Fran's top get everything you need!

Up in Rodanthe they have reports of Puppy drum. In Salvo they have reports of Drum, Blues and Black drum. Here in Avon we have Puppy drum, Spanish, Blues. Down in Buxton they have Blues and Puppy drum. In Frisco they have blues. And finally in Hatteras they have Puppy drum.
It has been a beautiful day to go fishing. If you haven't been out yet, now is the time.

With puppy drum up and down the island and blues, fishing isn't to bad! Up in Rodanthe they have reports of Puppy drum, Pompano, and Blues. In Salvo they have trout and sea mullet. Here in Avon we have some Puppy drum and Blues off the pier and from the beach. Down in Buxton they are catching some puppy drum. In Frisco they have reports of puppy drum and flounder. Finally down in Hatteras, they are catching some puppy drum, pompano, and blues. Come to Frank and Fran's to get all the advice and gear you need!

FISHING REPORT - 10/3/17
Lots of early morning Drum catches up and down the island. Small Blues, Pompano, Sea Mullet, and Speckled Trout are also being caught. Soundside is still seeing its fair share of Specs and Puppy Drum as well. Hoping the winds will calm down tomorrow and allow for some more great FALL Fishing!

​FISHING REPORT - 10/2/17

FALL FISHING IS HERE! Fish of the day is Red Drum! Puppy and Yearling size being caught up and down the island today! See photo below from Joshua Freeborn of Polkton, NC with his beauty of a catch!

Rodanthe Pier reported catches of Puppy Drum, Sea Mullet, Spot and Small Blues. Avon Beaches as well as the Avon Pier saw Puppy and Yearling Drum, Small Blues, Sea Mullet, Small Pompano and Spot! Soundside continues to see a great deal of Speckled Trout and the artificial Gulp or ZMan products paired with the Pop N'Gurgle Cork seems to be the arsenal of choice!

Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras all reporting Puppy and Yearling Drum, Black Drum, Sea Mullet, Small Blues, Pompano and a whopping 6lb Flounder caught out at Ramp 55 today!
