FRANK & FRAN'S HATTERAS ISLAND FISHING REPORT - 10/30/2019

Today's fishing report can be summed up in two words, SEA MULLET. Sea mullet have been caught up and down the beach on bloodworms and Fishbite artificial shrimp and bloodworms. Rodanthe Pier has been landing big drum at night. Here on Avon Beach we have had reports of small pompano and small black drum.
Sound side, there were good numbers of puppy drum caught today and the speckled trout bite continues to be good.
We received a new shipment of beanies tonight. Check them out online or in the shop.

FRANK AND FRAN'S HATTERAS ISLAND FISHING REPORT-10/29/2019

Today was a beautiful day but the catching was a little slow. We had reports of puppy drum, sea mullet and blowtoads from the Rodanthe and Avon Piers. Nice size sea mullet were caught from Avon beaches south all the way down to Hatteras. We weighed in a couple of citation sea mullet just under two pounds. They were being caught on sand fleas, fresh bloodworms and Fishbite bloodworms.

Puppy drum are being caught soundside from Oregon Inlet to ramp 60 soundside in Buxton. There have still some speckled trout being caught soundside in Avon but the action has slowed down a little.

Don't forget we still have our Vibe kayak end of season deal going on. Only two kayaks left, a Sea Ghost 130 and a Sea Ghost 110. Now is a great time to buy so you can take advantage of the sound fishing during the cooler fall days!
Stop in and ask about our year end deal.

A fairly productive day today before the wind kicked up. Reports of Drum, Puppy Drum, and Pompano from the Rodanthe Pier. Sea Mullet in Salvo. Puppy Drum in Buxton. Puppy Drum and Pompano in Hatteras.

FRANK AND FRAN'S HATTERAS ISLAND FISHING REPORT-10/15/2019

Fishing was a little slow today but we did have some good reports of bluefish being caught up and down the island on fresh finger mullet and float rigs. We also weighed in a 2.99 lb sea mullet that was caught on the beach here in Avon. Puppy drum were also being caught from ramp 34 south down to ramp 55.
This sounds like a broken record but the speckled trout bite has still been hot on the sound side. Tonight we received in some new inexpensive trout rod/reel combos plus we also have some really hot, higher end Toadfish rods which are great for trout fishing so be sure to stop in and check them out.
Looks like we have some early morning rain in store for us tomorrow. We have plenty of Frogg Togg rainsuits and jackets in stock so you have no excuse to get out there and fish! We are open from 6 am - 9 pm.

FRANK AND FRAN'S HATTERAS ISLAND FISHING REPORT-10/14/2019
A beautiful day here on the Island with the cooler weather pushing in and bringing in the bigger fish. Blues, Sheepshead and Black Drum off the Rodanthe Pier. Big Drum in Salvo. Blues, Puppy Drum, and Pompano here in Avon. Puppy Drum and Blues in Buxton. Blues and Puppy Drum in Frisco. Blues, Puppy Drum, Black Drum in Hatteras.

FRANK AND FRAN'S HATTERAS ISLAND FISHING REPORT-10/12/2019
It was pretty rough on the beaches today. Some blues and puppy drum in Buxton and Hatteras and some nice size trout in the sound. We have fresh finger mullet and we are ready and waiting for you! Remember to drive slow through the water, as it is salt water. Safe travels! Hope to see you soon!

FRANK AND FRAN'S HATTERAS ISLAND FISHING REPORT-10/10/2019

The word is out i'm sure with the Island being closed and the water being rough there is not much to provide on this evening's fishing report. A few Blues in Rodanthe and some puppy drum in Buxton. If you should make any attempt to fish in the rough conditions, please be sure to take extra care of yourself as well as friends and loved ones who may be out there with you.

Fishing on the island today has been a challenge to say the least. It is taken a lot of weight to hold bottom, if holding bottom is even possible! The anglers that did brave the conditions today were reporting Puppy Drum, Blue Fish, and a few Sea Mullet. We would like to wish the Outcasters fishing team Good Luck Tomorrow in the Nags Head Fishing Tournament.

FRANK AND FRAN'S HATTERAS ISLAND FISHING REPORT-10/09/2019

Today was another rough day. The water temperature is 71 degrees at the Rodanthe Pier and a big drum was landed up there today. The Avon Pier closed early due to rough conditions. We had reports of bluefish from Buxton south down to Hatteras. The speckled trout fishing is still good on the sound and sound side fishing is a good way to get out of the angry surf.

Fall is finally in the air. Stop in and check out our Frank & Fran's hoodies as well as our new assortment of Frogg Togg jackets.

FRANK AND FRAN'S HATTERAS ISLAND FISHING REPORT-10/08/2019

Today was rough on the beach and many were saying it was taking 8 to 10 ounces to hold bottom. There were a few brave enough to stand out there in the 30 MPH NE winds. Those brave fisherman reported pompano, sea mullet, black drum and blues off the Rodanthe Pier and few drum off the Avon pier. Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras reported a few scattered bluefish. Many ventured over to the sound side and were rewarded with speckled trout.

We got in a new shipment of Angler Fish-N-Mate gear today to help you get ready for the fall fishing season. If you are in need of a new rod rack with all the accessories including bucket holder and bait table stop in and check them out.

FRANK & FRAN'S HATTERAS ISLAND FISHING REPORT - 10/6/19
Get ready for the wind and rain, unfortunately the next few days don't look all that great! The good news is, the forecasts are normally wrong! Let's hope for that!
For today Rodanthe Pier reported Pompano, Black Drum, Spot and Croaker while Salvo had Blues and a few Puppy Drum. Avon Beaches had Sea Mullet, Blues and Spot, mostly all reported from Ramp 38. Avon Pier reported Pompano, Spot and 2 small Pups. The Point had its share of Blues and Spinner Sharks today. Frisco and Hatteras both had no report for us today!
If the rain does come, just remember, fish don't mind being wet and they don't know its raining! So, stop by for your own rain gear and get out there! We have Frogg Togg Rainsuits as low as $19.99!

See you soon!

FRANK & FRAN'S HATTERAS ISLAND FISHING REPORT - 10/3/19

Scorcher of a day out there today, but with a cold front approaching our high's will only be in the mid to high 70's tomorrow! Some love that, some will miss the heat! The good news is with the cooler waters comes the DRUM! Tomorrow's winds will also be conducive to Drum Fishing as well!

Next week is the Nags Head Surf Fishing Tournament and we wish all the anglers tight lines!

Fishing for today consisted of Sea Mullet, Spot, Croaker, Pompano and lots of small Puppy Drum from the Point - South. Speckled Trout are still poppin' in the sound! Josh from Shelby, NC got into them today and shared his catch with us! Great Job Josh!

Fresh Finger Mullet arrived late this evening just in time for tomorrow!

FRANK & FRAN'S HATTERAS ISLAND FISHING REPORT - 10/1/19

Hotober today for sure, but beautiful none the less. Strong winds and waves caused some ocean overwash at a couple spots on the island today, which we could certainly do without!
Winds will diminish overnight then switch directions for a nice SW wind tomorrow evening.

Fishing continued to be rough today, but with the water temps still so warm, in the high 70's, folks were catching the normal summertime slam of Sea Mullet, Pompano, Blues, Spot, and Croaker. Hatteras reported a few keeper Pups caught down their way today as well!

October 5th is the Avon Fishing Pier NC Annual Fish Like A Girl Tournament! We'll have all your supplies ready to go as well as fresh bait! Don't miss out on the fun!
