FRANK AND FRAN'S HATTERAS ISLAND FISHING REPORT-09/26/2019
The wind picked up a little today and the catching slowed down little but there is still lots to report. In Rodanthe there has been blue fish, and speckled trout (pier and sound). Salvo had reports of spot and sea mullet. Here in Avon, we had reports of blues, speckled trout and sea mullet. Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras reported blue and a few spanish mackerel.  The blues have been hitting on fireball rigs and cut mullet as well as metal lures (e.g. stingsilvers, glass minnows, Hopkins).
Soundside continued to be good today with good catches of speckled trout, many of which were over 20". Popping corks and artificial lures continue to get the job done.
Our hat racks are stocked up and ready for fall with new hats that arrived today.

FRANK AND FRAN'S HATTERAS ISLAND FISHING REPORT-09/24/2019

Three years ago today the team of Tim, Heather, Randy and Stephanie took over as the new owners of Frank & Fran's so that Frank Folb could go enjoy the retired life. We are thankful to have had this opportunity and I bet Frank is even more thankful for the retired life. A big thanks to Ginger for staying on with us, being a great teacher and an even better friend! Most importantly thank you to all the great customers whom we have come to know! We appreciate each and everyone one of you.

The fishing has been a little slow today. We had reports of sea mullet, spot and pompano in Rodanthe, Salvo, Avon. Buxton and Hatteras. Puppy drum were caught early morning on ramp 48 in Frisco.
The best fishing continues to be sound side with speckled trout, blues and puppy drum being caught.

Today's fishing report...WINDY! There were a few folks who braved the wind but the only reports we had were spot on the Avon Pier. A few ventured out on the soundside and caught a few blues and puppy drum.
Tomorrow looks like it will be much of the same. Stop in grab a koozie and a cigar from our walk-in humidor and relax and enjoy the cooler weather!
For those of you that do want to venture out tomorrow, we received from fresh mullet tonight.

FRANK & FRAN'S HATTERAS ISLAND FISHING REPORT - 9/17/19

The wind has begun and unfortunately will continue for the next few days! Conditions ocean side are quite rough making for some tough fishing conditions. However, there were still Sea Mullet, Blues, Spanish and a few Drum caught today. Many of the Drum were too small for the slot and we also heard of a nice 35+ incher caught off Ramp 48 today!

Soundside, there have been Speckled Trout and a few Drum as well as the normal Pinfish, Pigfish and Spot.

FRANK & FRAN'S HATTERAS ISLAND FISHING REPORT - 9/1/19

We're all watching Dorian and where it plans to go next. Obviously its still too far out to make any concrete predictions, but we ask that you stay tuned to our website and facebook page as we will keep you posted on any new information that we receive.

As for fishing today, the waters were still fishable with most of the fish being caught from Buxton, north. Sea Mullet, Spot, Spanish, Blues and Speckled Trout in the sound still dominate the reports!

Tomorrow may be the last good day this week to get out there, so get up early, stop by, get your fresh bait, a cup of coffee and get out there!

We'll be here from 6am - 9pm!

FRANK & FRAN'S HATTERAS ISLAND FISHING REPORT 9/2/2019
Well I am sure all our friends and family have heard about Hurricane Dorian that is headed our way. The seas are already angry, and fishing has been spotty. There is a mandatory evacuation for all visitors to Hatteras Island starting tomorrow Sept 3 at 12 noon. National Park Service stated that all vehicle access ramps will be closing at 9 PM tonight, and will remain closed until after Dorian has passed.
We are battening down the hatches our selves here at Frank and Fran's and looking forward to a very good fall season of fishing!

HURRICANE DORIAN HIT ON SEPTEMBER 6th, 2019 leaving in its path LOTS of Water and Mud!

FRANK & FRAN'S HATTERAS ISLAND FISHING REPORT - 9/11/19

Let us not forget today and the EVIL events of 9/11. Let us be thankful for all we have.

Welcome Back to Hatteras Island, we're sorry Dorian interrupted our regularly programmed Fishing Report (and a whole lot more!) but, WE'RE BACK and we hope you are too!

With people just entering today and getting back out on the beaches, the fishing report is limited. However, Ramp 38 was flopping with excitement with Sea Mullet, Pompano, Spanish and Puppy Drum. We also heard about Blues in good numbers being caught out at the point tonight!

Tomorrow the remainder of the island opens up to visitors. PLEASE be Patient and Kind as many still have yet to get their homes or businesses back and order but we're all doing our best to welcome you! We appreciate every single one of our customers and we look forward to seeing you!

Open 6am - 9pm tomorrow with Fresh Mullet, Shrimp, Bloodworms, Squid, Sand Fleas and more! Come and get it!
